The authors discuss the results of the project of updating and upgrading the State Rubricator of Sci-tech Information (SRSTI, GSNTI) in part of the Social Sciences section. The new master version of 2025 SRSTI is to be implemented in January, 2026. The analytical study of the following information objects is based on: 2022 SRSTI classification tables as amended and updated in 2023; The Program for Basic Research for 2021–2030; the verified version of VAK (State Commission for Academic Degrees) Nomenclature of scientific specialities; the list of priority science-driven technologies approved by the Presidential Decree No. 529 of June 18, 2024; the RNPLS&T’s inflow of sci-tech literature classified by SRSTI classes. As the result of the study, the changes are formulated to be incorporated into the subject classes of Social Sciences section of the SRSTI valid version to ensure relevance of new SRSTI classification tables in the context of the status and trends in social sciences and humanities. The changes to the SRSTI subject scope and structure can be grouped in three types: introduction of new subject headings, exclusion of irrelevant subject headings and transfer of their subject scope under relevant class, changing class description, including updates to scientific terminology and terms unification. The authors cite the following statistics: 361 new subject headings, 101 headings excluded, 361 descriptions updated.
