Navigator on Electronic Information Resources of Chelyabinsk Scientific Libraries

The purpose of the article is to provide the developed navigator model as a single access point to information resources of Chelyabinsk scientific libraries. The article grounds the urgency of the common information-educational space of the large industrial city. Iintimated by the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library (CRUSL) project to create the navigator – the system of access to subscribed electronic information resources and Chelyabinsk scientific libraries’ resources of own generation serves this purpose.

The article presents a review and substantive analysis of socio-humanitarian studies devoted to virtual communication. The range of topical problems related to the spread of virtual communication is defined: the lack of a generally accepted understanding of the essence of virtual communication and, as a consequence, the lack of a single definition; the presence of a variety of inconsistent methodological approaches to its study; the growing number of highly specialized studies of virtual communication in psychology, sociology, pedagogy and others.

In this publication, we examined the range of issues that the libraries face during the transfer of traditional collections into digital format, and provided examples of efficient technological solutions. Preserving scientific information in libraries is a complex task encompassing many factors, such as: media obsolescence, changes in device designs, software obsolescence and updates, format compatibility, data security and access to information.

The library aims at preserving evidence of the past, creating, classifying and systemizing digital copies of cultural and historical objects as well. The purpose of the article is to present the model of the digital archive of scanned documents organized by Gomel regional universal library. The archive of electronic images of documents is proposed to be organized in accordance with the concept of the State archival institution, and digital copies are to be museumized; the description of such documents should contain symbols indicating its digital nature.

The relevance of the study is related to the need to assess the level of development of scientific knowledge and the degree of development of individual scientific problems in the field of agricultural economics. The purpose of this work is to study the dynamics of the number of publications in the field of agricultural economics in Russia and highlight their main topics. The main research method is content analysis within the bibliometric research. The results indicate great attention of scientists to various aspects of agricultural economics.

In his annual report to the Seventh World Professional Forum “SOCHI–2023”, the author analyzes the status and trends of main technological aspects of modern library services and functions. He characterizes the digital transformation components that dynamically influence technological and behavioral models of modern libraries, e. g. artificial intellect (AI), neural networks, copyright laws, information market transformation, and foreign software import substitution. He gives his opinion on the role of the above-mentioned components in the library information practice.
