Formation of the Register of Libraries of the Novosibirsk Complex of Scientific and Educational Institutions

The purpose of the article is to present the initial results of compiling a library register for institutions within the Novosibirsk scientific and educational complex, which possesses significant research, educational, and innovative industrial potential. The work was conducted in connection with realization by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation federal project to develop scientific and technical libraries in research institutions, higher education institutions, and continuing professional education institutions.

The authors discuss the challenges of AI technologies implementation in libraries. The validity of the study is determined by onrush of AI technologies and AI introduction into every sphere of life. The study of AI practical application in libraries is very important for the analysis of changes in the library sphere in the 21 st century. About the Medialogical Understanding of the Concept of “Book Culture”

The concept of “book culture”, which entered the domestic book-study discourse in the 1980s, is currently one of the central ones for both historical-book and theoretical-book studies. However, it has not yet received a conventional definition in Russian science. The purpose of the article is to formulate a definition of book culture based on the interpretative theory of culture and theoretical and methodological achievements of medialogy dominating in modern socio-humanitarian knowledge. The authors show the general theoretical context of the formation of the concept of “book culture”.

Основными источниками для подготовки статьи стали материалы периодической печати, научные работы, архивные материалы, относящиеся к изучаемому временному периоду. The objective of the article is to give an overview of the materials of the Public Hearings on the problems of books and reading «The Reader: Global Challenges and Personal Stories» held on March 24, 2023 in Novosibirsk in the frames of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Homo legens in the Past and Present”. They brought together about 30 representatives of the government and administration, book theorists and practitioners, heads of higher educational institutions, representatives of the library community, and public organizations.

The article is devoted to the owners of Russian personal libraries in Turkestan region at the end of the 19th – the beginning the 20th centuries, the persons who made a great contribution to creating the first public library of the European type on the territory of modern Uzbekistan. The purpose of the article is to consider the personality of the Russian personal libraries’ owners in the Turkestan region in the late 19th – early 20th centuries, as well as the history of the formation of their personal book collections, thematic content and the degree of their study.
