The purpose of the article is to present the initial results of compiling a library register for institutions within the Novosibirsk scientific and educational complex, which possesses significant research, educational, and innovative industrial potential. The work was conducted in connection with realization by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation federal project to develop scientific and technical libraries in research institutions, higher education institutions, and continuing professional education institutions. The systematic description of the library and information infrastructure of the Novosibirsk scientific and educational complex is presented: 1) libraries of scientific institutions under the scientific and methodological guidance of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, subordinate to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; 2) libraries of industry research institutes and experimental design bureaus; 3) libraries of universities; 4) libraries of secondary vocational education institutions, with the introduction of the "library card" as a unified unit of record. This is the scientific novelty of the work being conducted at the first stage. The originality lies in its regional scale and practice-oriented nature (the register as a tool for the future integration of information resources). The next stage is the creation of the unified electronic information and navigation portal for the libraries of research institutions, higher and secondary education institutions of Novosibirsk, to effectively develop and use the institutions' combined information resources and ensure access to information.
