Virtual Communication Development in Youth Scientific and Educational Space

The intensive virtualization of the scientific and educational space, which is taking place under the influence of globalization transformations, seriously limits the real interaction of potential participants in scientific projects and events, especially at the international level, but significantly expands the geography. At the same time, the role of youth scientific communities is growing, which, dynamically adapting to the digital transformations of the environment, are able to form new traditions that have a serious impact on the vector of promising scientific research.

The year 2023 is a special year for domestic selection: this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Plant Breeding and Seed Production at Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, the first department of this profile in Russia. Among the rapid changes in everyday life in post-revolutionary Russia, much was possible even in such a conservative environment as education.

The scientific libraries participate in building the information and communication infrastructure being an integral part of the scientific, educational,socio-cultural and industrial complex of the region. The authors review in brief the evolution of the State Public Scientific and Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSTL SB RAS) – the leading information and library center of Siberia in the context of changing scientific and educational environment.

TThe article raises the issues of scientific support for the development of librarianship in the conditions of digitalization. It presents the analysis of the scientific agenda of library and information sciences, laid down in the “Strategy for the development of librarianship in the Russian Federation until 2030”. The possibilities of solving problems relevant to the industry within the framework of the new nomenclature and passport of the scientific specialty “Library Science, Bibliography and Book Studies” are critically evaluated.

Prosopographic research is a kind of research used by specialists in different spheres of scientific knowledge including library science. It is applied to study historical issues in a wide range of problems of library science and librarianship development, which are relevant to modern period. Prosopographic research main stages are represented related to compiling a collective biography of a group of persons; advantages and limitations of a prosopographic method are analyzed, it is defined as a cross-disciplinary one.
