The Debate on the New Historical Stage: Marxism and the Concept of Post-Industrial Society

The emergence of the hypothesis of the transition to a new, post-industrial stage of history was a challenge for Marxist theorists. They responded with a series of arguments, more or less valid, attempting to refute the main tenets of the competing theory. By now, the dispute is not over. However, it became clear that the key points of both approaches needed further justification.

The domain of medicine today is more sensitive to the «latent» questions of clinical practice. Problems concerning individualization and humanization of high-tech medicine are considered. Theoretical concepts developed in the framework of humanistic medicine focusing on the subjective experience of illness are analyzed.

It is shown that these conceptual and theoretical changes are conditioned by the internal logic of the development of sociology, which has gradually passed over in the analysis of social phenomena from the study of the adverse effects of social changes and the symptoms of social deviations to the causes of socially problematic situations.

Intentionality of Mathematical Discourse and Löb’s Theorem

Proceeding from the fact of equivalence of the Löb theorem and the Second Gödel incompleteness theorem, as well as the fact of the intensionality of the latter, the problem of demonstrating the intensionality of Löb’s theorem is formulated. It is shown that this intentionality has an implicit character, explained by the “weirdness” (as expressed by G. Boolos) of this theorem.
