The Library of the RAS Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry – the successor to the library of the Imperial Academy of Sciences Chemical Laboratory

Among its institutions, the libraries hold a special place as depositories of scientific knowledge rendering research support services. The authors discuss the experience of the Library of the Kurnakov Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was established in the second half of the 19 th as the library of the Chemical Laboratory of the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.

The authority file of names of agricultural organizations: Features and development

The characteristics of the authority file and information sources are given, methodological solutions for data generation are considered. The authority file is used to improve the quality of bibliographic entries by unifying access points, improving the processes of in- formation exchange and retrieval.
The specifics of academic publishing (The case study of publishing departments of Ekaterinburg universities)

The problems of transition to RSCI database as the basic apparatus for scientometric research

He focuses, in particular, on the information and software tools for scientometric research (scientometric databases – OBD). The problems preventing today from using Web of Science and Scopus DBs are noted. The author argues that the RSCI database (Russian Science Citation Index) is currently the most appropriate choice.
