Scientific publications: from a library card index to bibliographic profiles
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:08Information on scientific publications of Pushchino Research Center staff is originally seen as an important component of implementing the library information function of the Centralized Library System of the Central Library in Pushchino, which is a department of the Library on Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LNS RAS). During the library activity, since 1968, it could distinguish three main periods in creating and developing the information-bibliographic support of users’ publication activity in all research institutes of the Center.

Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:08A typical site of a scientific library entering the structure of the Library for Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LNS RAS) is aimed to meet information needs of a certain scientific team - employees of scientific institutions served by a particular library. The main function of the site is to permit the user visiting the library virtually with both information and reference purposes. The site concept assumes compatible technology of its creation with ready software of LNS RAS and simple methods of content updating available to non-specialists in programming.
New practices of literature distribution for children and youth in Siberia and the Far East

Based on a combination of landscape-reconstructing principles, surveys, and comparative typological analysis, the article presents data that expand previously studied aspects of the functioning of the main channels for the sale of books for children in the Siberian-Far Eastern region. It is shown that books for children are the largest segment of the Russian book market, which has been growing since 2008.

Innovation processes include both models of library management which the libraries for centuries willingly borrowed from the practice of large corporations, industrial enterprises, commercial structures of developed market economies, mainly that of the United States and Canada, as well as the implementation of computer technology, the cost of libraries on innovations, the purchase of software and digital electronic equipment, salaries specialists.
A. V. Zhuravsky Memorial Historical Museum library in Ust-Tsilma village of the Komi Republic
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:08The library activity analysis of the Pechora Natural-Historical Station at the Academy of Sciences (1906-1914) showed that it had a scientific, popular, and applied character that corresponded to A. V. Zhuravsky views on science popularization, it was a specialized professional agricultural library in the remote site near the Arctic Circle. Now it represents a unique complex of the early XX century spiritual culture in Komi region and maintains its uniqueness. The museum books reflect the development level of different branches in agricultural science and applied agricultural knowledge.
