Range of lawn grasses and the state of lawns in the landscaping facilities of Stavropol
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45In 2019-2021, a study of the species composition and current state of ornamental lawns in two parks, a boulevard and ten public gardens in Stavropol was conducted to evaluate the range of lawns used, their current state and to determine the effectiveness of the management measures taken to improve the quality of lawn coverings. The collected database can be used to make effective economic decisions to optimize the range and increase the ecological and aesthetic value of landscaping objects.
First field trials of russian-produced pheromone preparations for monitoring and control of the brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys Stal
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45This paper deals with the results of field trials of domestically produced pheromone preparations for a dangerous quarantine pest - the brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys Stal, 1858 (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae). In 2017, the domestically produced pheromone preparations for H. halys were first synthesized. In 2018, large-scale field trials of pheromone preparations for H. halys were conducted in the quarantine phytosanitary zone in Sochi (Southern Russia) and the Republic of Abkhazia.

Evaluation by morphological characteristics of the collection of the paniculata phlox (Phlox paniculata L.) domestic cultivars of N.V. Tsitsin’s botanical garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The study evaluated the morphological characteristics of the collection of Paniculate phlox domestic cultivars (Phlox paniculata L.) of N.V. Tsitsin’s Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Cultivars were rated by valuable decorative features in order to select a new breeding material suitable for use in cut flower production and gardening. Accounting of economic and decorative features were carried out within two years, in accordance with the methodology of state cultivar testing. The data obtained are statistically reliable.
Dynamics of hormonal status of young simmental breed in conditions of various housing systems
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The work is devoted to the study of the dynamics of the hormonal status of young cattle depending on the housing system. In this regard, the functional activity of the endocrine glands was studied: the adrenal cortex, pancreas, thyroid and genital glands. The content of cortisol, insulin, testosterone, thyroxine in the blood serum was determined during the periods: immediately after birth, at the daily age, after reaching 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 18 months. It was found that the cortisol content in the blood of newborn calves (148.6–152.7 nmol/l) was the maximum.
Genetic evaluation of the Novotalitskaya and Shebalinskaya populations of marals (Cervus elaphus sibiricus)
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45Currently, various approaches, including molecular genetic methods, are used to study the gene pool of different breeds and populations and to determine their genetic structure and diversity. The development of molecular genetic methods has opened up new possibilities for evaluating genetic diversity, determining population structure, and controlling the degree of inbreeding. One type of molecular genetic marker is microsatellites. The aim of the research was the genetic evaluation of the Novotalitskaya and Shebalinskaya maral populations using microsatellite markers.

Assessment of economically useful characteristics of maral fawns of the Novotalitskaya line of the Altai-Sayan breed
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45Increasing the profitability in the maral breeding industry primarily depends on the rational and focused rearing of young animals. The development of marals at an early age largely determines the additional economic value of these animals. The study’s objective is to assess the productive qualities of maral fawns of the Novotalitskaya line of the Altay-Sayan breed.
Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) As an universal forage crop in adaptive grassland farming (review)
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The review summarizes the results of domestic and foreign literature on the biological and ecological characteristics and use of orchardgrass in forage production. In Russia and the world, the orchardgrass is one of the most widespread species in natural and seeded meadows. With a sufficient supply of nitrogen, it surpasses other grasses in terms of competitiveness and yield, producing 5 to 12 t/ha of dry matter in different regions of Russia. Under optimal conditions of use, its productive longevity is 8 to 10 years or more.
