The author discusses the findings of the survey of scientific studies and research at the regional central libraries. The survey was held by the National Library of Russia under the government order of the RF Ministry of Culture. The expanding studies in transformation of scientific communication and practical aspects of open scientific content and scientific process dictate to identify the subject scope of open science studies. For the purpose of the study, 561 journal publications in the Library and Information Science category included in the Web of Science database were analyzed. As a result, 27 topics are specified, their contents are described, and the differences in subject orientation between “the classical” WoS, and the newer ESCI, are revealed.

Bibliometric analysis of scientific cooperation in the studies of moral dilemmas and moral choice

The authors attempt the bibliometric and scientometric approach toward analysis of scientific cooperation in research of moral dilemmas and moral choice using Scopus bibliometric tools. The sector-specific dimension of the studies of moral dilemmas and moral choice is considered. The authors conclude that the share of psychological journals on the subject has significantly increased with dominating psychological research problems (in contrast to the traditional philosophical dimension).

The author analyzes the dynamics of scientometrical indicators (publication activity, citation and impact) of Russian research in storytelling in 2012–2021. Storytelling is seen as the marketing technology used to deliver information to the audience through stories. In recent years, storytelling has been intensively used in advertising, social media, corporate blogging, and in education.

The article presents the results of a study of signals conveying positive or negative messages about social scientists. We surveyed sociologists actively publishing in the Russian language (N = 810). Subjects were asked to respond to a hypothetical situation in which they were to assess CVs of a fictional applicant for a grant competition. Attributes of scholars comprising a standard academic biography differed markedly both in their salience and in the degree of consensus about their importance.

The lag of Russia in the development of the fifth technological order has had a dramatic impact on research and technological libraries.
