Biological characteristics of cultivars of Hibiscus syriacus L. grown in Donetsk Botanical Garden

The morphobiological and phenological features of ten cultivars of Hibiscus syriacus L. were investigated. These cultivars were introduced from Simferopol Botanical Garden and are growing in the collection of Donetsk Botanical Garden. The plants grow in the open ground and are protected from the cold. The cultivar Carneus Plenus exhibited the highest degree of shoot freezing, up to 50% of the length. Vegetation starts almost simultaneously in all cultivars – from the second decade of April.

Grain quality assessment of winter soft wheat collection samples at Moscow Agricultural Academy

The article presents the results of the study of winter wheat varieties in terms of grain quality. The study was conducted in 2022–2023 at the Field Experimental Station of Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. The common methods of laboratory research of physical, biochemical and baking qualities of grain were used. The meteorological conditions of the study years varied influencing the grain quality of winter wheat. In 2022, precipitation was relatively evenly distributed against the background of elevated air temperature.

The article presents the results of research on the study of biomorphological features of Phlox paniculata L. varieties from the collection of the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy for the most important ornamental and economically valuable features. A methodology was developed and carried out to assess the ornamental features of some Ph. paniculata varieties to obtain breeding material promising for use in urban landscaping, as well as agro-industrial facilities and private gardening.

Recently, the safety of agricultural products has become a rather relevant aspect. One of the ways to solve this problem is the use of biological preparations. The aim of the research was to determine the effectiveness of using bioorganic fertilizers on leafless varieties of peas. The article presents the results of research into the effect of bioorganic fertilizers on the productivity elements of pea varieties. Pea seeds were treated with the studied preparations before sowing and during vegetation.

The paper presents the newly developed Sunlin oilseed flax variety possessing valuable biological and economically useful properties inherent in flax as a plant. The composition of its oil is adapted for long-term storage. Over a period between 2017 and 2019, a technology has been developed for cultivating this type of flax in the soil and climatic conditions of the Non-Chernozem zone of Russia, which allows obtaining oilseeds with high quality indicators. For 2017-2019, the average yield of the Sunlin variety of about 16.5-18.8 kg was achieved in the Ryazan region.

The paper presents an analysis of spring soft wheat varieties of different periods of variety change according to ecological plasticity and stability when cultivated in different climatic conditions (2014-2019). To increase the yield of spring soft wheat varieties, much attention is paid to the devlopment of high-intensity forms that respond positively to additional investments in agricultural technology. The research was carried out on the premises of the experimental study farm of Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in Moscow in 2018-2019. Over two years, the authors collected and microscoped samples of affected plants of different families to determine the causative agents of fungal diseases. The identification of the fungi species of the Alternaria genus was carried out by morphological features of conidia and the habitus of sporulation.

The aim of the work was to study the effect of precipitation and temperature during the vegetative season on the oil content of the studied sunflower cultivars. The article examines the dynamics of changes in the oil content of the sunflower cultivars selected by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Center of Agriculture Research of the South-East Region” for 2010–2019. It was revealed that the most favorable conditions for oil accumulation were observed in 2013, 2017 and 2019.
