Particular attention is paid to their relationship. Also, account is taken of the fact that in his early works, Sartre did not use the notion of alienation, but he used the concept of freedom. There were only hints of the concept of alienation, whereas the notion of freedom was not only used but also transformed from work to work. The evolution of these concepts and the complicated nature of their interpretation by Sartre are traced.
