The article aims at presenting and assessing the role of state-financed grants in the Armenian-Russian scientific ties development. Armenian-Russian relations have a long history of collaboration and capture nearly all fields starting from cultural-humanitarian to military-political ones. Scientific cooperation is amongst the most rapidly developing aspects of bilateral relations.
The current method for assessing scientific activity and results of organizations in the field of scientific and technical information and libraries of the Russian Academy of Sciences is analyzed.
The article is devoted to bibliologic researches of the collection of Slavic manuscripts from the library of the Greek monastery of St. Paul in Mount Athos by Archimandrite Leonid (Kavelin). It tells about the history of the library of the Greek monastery of St. Paul. Through the study of various unpublished and published sources we were able to reestablish one of the moments of the history of the Serbian-Slavic manuscripts in this library, first presented in this article.

The author formulates the notion and tasks of media education and characterizes main directions of forming media competences at graduates of Institute of information and library technologies of the Kemerovo state university of culture and arts. The importance of scientific understanding of problems of media education in modern society is underlined.
The paper examines relationships of the quality estimation of the reference-information service for readers by librarians with professional motivation. Study results are based on the questionnaire survey of 199 employees of the public libraries network in Saint Petersburg. The study has been done in frames of research project «Staff development of public libraries of the corporate network of public libraries in Saint Petersburg executing the information-bibliographic service» in 2013-2014.
Comparing changes in publication policies, the influence of translated books, and an important role that women writers play now, author analyzed new tendencies in American and Russian children’s and teens’ literature. The author concludes that American picture books reflect the varieties of contemporary experiences, and the Russian ones thrive with poetry and non-fiction. The comparison of teens’ literature of both countries shows a lot of similarities; both encompass more sensitive topics, such as illness, death, suicide, drugs, psychological trauma, and bulling.
