Effect of antibiotics on milk microorganism growth

The reproduction rate of various microorganisms in milk may differ and depends mainly on the storage temperature. The initial degree of microbial contamination of the product, the presence and concentration of certain chemical substances also serve as factors that cause the development of dairy microorganisms. The research purpose is to identify the nature of the differential effects of antibiotics on the microbiological composition of raw milk, sourdoughs and fermented milk products.

Long-term studies were carried out at the experimental base of the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy ( Michurinsky district, Tambov region ) in the conditions of the northern part of the Central Chernozem region. The breeding program to create new varieties of white lupine ( Lupinus albus L. ) of determinant type was carried out on leached chernozems and included studies to assess the effect of stress factors on the main dynamic parameters and seed productivity of varieties of white lupine selected by the RSAU – MTAA.

Development strategy of agrarian universities and academic staff motivation for its implementation

The author proves that in modern conditions the strategy of Russian Universities should be focused on a clear view of deep organizational and economic changes in the organizational system necessary for ensuring compliance with the University’s fast-changing environment instead of ambitious goals in the areas of their activity. The author presents the results of a critical analysis of the current system of adjusting the salary of academic staff using a variety of indicators. The paper argues that the University should not be predominantly influenced by the dececions of governing bodies.

Underestimation of information costs: causes and consequences

The article summarizes the experience gained in empirical research and theoretical analysis of information costs conducted by the author. The main conclusion is that information costs are systematically underestimated. That is why the high national economic efficiency of digitalization projects often turns out to be illusory. In support of the conclusion, it substantiates the regularity of the increase in per-unit direct information costs as the volume of data collected by an economic entity grows and explains why microprocessor technologies cannot reverse this trend.

The article is dedicated to the memory of the leading agrochemist-soil scientist of the second half of the 19th and early 20th century, Professor Peter Samsonovich Kossovich. The formation of an outstanding scientist as a researcher and teacher is shown. The contribution of P.S. Kossovich to the development of agrochemistry, soil science and agriculture is described. His research has established that leguminous plants fix nitrogen of the air with roots, not leaves. P.S.

On the biology of some species of Origanum vulgare L. in culture

This article presents the results of the study of two growing seasons (2022–2023) of Origanum vulgare L. (common origanum), O. vulgare ssp. virens (Hoffmanns & Link) letsw., O. vulgare “Severnoe Siyanie”, O. vulgare f. aureum. The characteristics of the onset of phenological phases, biomorphological indicators, the yield of green mass of a plant during the flowering phase were studied, the success in the conditions of cultivation in the northern forest steppe of the Bashkir Urals (ufa) was evaluated.

To the issue of genetic improvement of prolificacy in sheep

Most sheep breeds are low-prolific, which, along with other reasons, leads to low profitability of the industry. In intensive systems of industrial sheep breeding, high prolificacy of sheep can increase the efficiency of sheep production. Cross-breeding of low-prolific breeds with high-prolific breeds has been the main means of genetic improvement of prolificacy, while intra-breed selection has been considered relatively ineffective due to low heritability of the trait.

The use of competitive allele-specific PCR is becoming a popular method for mass crop genotyping. The development of markers for SNPs in polyploid organisms requires additional validation and testing when developing primers for further use. In this work, we propose an algorithm for testing and interpreting the performance of KASP markers on wheat using existing common wheat genomic assemblies. Using the described algorithm, six KASP-markers on VIVIPAROUS-1, MOTHER OF FT AND TFL1, TGW6-A1, PSY-A1, Dreb-B1 and leaf rust resistance locus Lr14a were analyzed.

The research is devoted to a comprehensive study of blueberry angustifolia, which is a promising berry shrub for cultivation in the Middle Urals. The aim of the work was an integral assessment of the prospects for introduction and the yield of blueberry when cultivated in the Middle Cis-Urals. The studies were carried out using widely accepted methods. Morphometric characteristics of plants in 2020: plant height – 40.6±3.2 cm, crown diameter – 59.4±3.3 cm, average productivity – 854.7±60.1 g, average berry weight – 0.97 ± 0.10 g.

Use of vegetation indices in wheat and millet breeding

The article presents an approach to data processing that extends critical indices of plant structural analysis by new characteristics of vegetation indices. The ability to detect differences in plant genotype usingvegetation indices was confirmed using common millet (Panicum miliaceum) as an example. The use of cluster analysis to group the tested breeding lines into clusters with optimal variety characteristics for further breeding work was demonstrated.
