Current development trends production and processing of fruit and berry products in the Republic of Dagestan

The article discusses the development of intensive horticulture, the functioning of the existing forms of management in the sub-sector and enterprises of the fruit processing industry of the Republic of Dagestan at the present stage. Regional statistical materials for the period 2015–2021 were used as initial data. The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities of restoration and effective functioning of the fruit subcomplex through organizational transformations in the region.

Statistical and economic analysis of the state and development of sheep and goat breeding in peasant (farmer) households of the Russian Federation

The article establishes a positive trend in the dynamics sheep and goat population in peasant (farmer) households from 1990 to 2022, in contrast to agricultural organizations and household farms, which led to structural shifts in farm categories. In 2000, the share of sheep and goats in peasant (farmer) households accounted for only 6% of the total livestock in all categories of farms, but by 2022, it reached 40%, with the total number of sheep and goats in the Russian Federation increasing from 15 to 21 million during this period.

New derivatives of pyrano[3,2-c]pyridones III 5, 10, 15, 18 were synthesised by threecomponent reaction of pyridonotryptamines I, aromatic aldehydes II and malononitril. Pyridonotryptamines I were synthesised by reaction of tryptamines (these compounds were obtained by Grandberg reaction of arylhydrazines with γ-halogencarbonyl compounds) with 4-hydroxy- 6-methyl-2H-pyran- 2-on. The aromatic aldehydes II 1, 5, 6, 9 are commercially available compounds.

In the current conditions of uncertainty and financial instability against the background of the coronavirus pandemic, small and medium-sized businesses are the most vulnerable. Entrepreneurs suffer huge losses, and the viability of many small businesses tends to zero due to the lack of internal reserves and unaffordable financial losses. The issue of state support for small and medium-size businesses, preferential lending and a number of other government measures aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in all affected areas remains acute.

Isolated microspore culture is the main method of producing doubled rapeseed haploids and is widely used in research institutions and commercial companies. The protocol of rapeseed embryo production is well developed and efficient for many genotypes, but some issues remain due to the low regeneration frequency of plantlets from embryos.

The article is devoted to the activities of Richard Ivanovich Schroeder, an outstanding Russian scientist, practitioner and teacher in the field of Horticulture. The outstanding role of R.I. Schroeder in the development of scientific horticulture, vegetable growing and ornamental gardening, in the foundation of educational activities in the Petrovsky (now the RSAU-MTAA) Academy is described. Information about the main directions of scientific activity of R.I. Schroeder is presented.

Physiological aspects of ripening and extending the shelf life of fleshy fruits

This review discusses the physiological aspects of the ripening of juicy fruits in relation to the problem of extending the shelf life of horticultural products. The achievements of molecular biology in the field of genetic regulation of plant quality formation processes are used. Particular attention is paid to the hormonal regulation of the accumulation of nutrients and biologically active substances in fruits. The role of ARF/IAA and DELLA receptor proteins in the interaction of auxin and GA signalling pathways during the growth of tomato, strawberry, and grape fruits is demonstrated.

Felted cherry is a valuable fruit crop due to its high adaptability and nutritional value of the fruit. In the territory of Russia, felted cherry is a cultivated plant. All natural populations are feral plants that entered the European part of Russia more than 150 years ago through the Primorsky Krai. The aim of the study is to assess the variability and conjugacy of fruit and leaf characters in a population of felted cherry. The subjects of the study were the wild felted cherry trees growing near the island of Patmos, Chemalsky district, Republic of Altai.

Apple tree resistance to high temperature stress

Under unstable climatic conditions, the resistance of apple trees to high temperatures is an important varietal trait. The aim of the research is to identify heat resistance indicators of different apple varieties in a heat chamber for dry air treatment. The heat treatment of the varieties Antonovka Obyknovennaya, Lobo, Rozhdestvenskoe, Bolotovskoe, Kandil Orlovskiy, Imrus was carried out in a heat chamber at the temperature of +38°С and air humidity of 40% for 90 days. For the heat treatment, 2-year-old apple plants were used.

The paper shows the significant contribution of Vsevolod Makrichievich Klechkovskiy to the development of agrochemistry and radioecology. V.M. Klechkovskiy worked all his life at the Department of Agrochemistry of Timiryazev Academy as an assistant professor, associate professor, professor, and Head of the Department. His creative activity was associated with two areas of research - agrochemistry and radioecology (the subject area established by him).
