Academic library as a cultural and educational center

But educational activity of academic library is perceived in a limited context, that is why the article objective is to analyze an academic library activity as an educational and cultural center. The activity is expressed by a set of educational-information, leisure and cultural events as instruments to promote and develop scientific knowledge, to stimulate users’ reading activity, to form general human culture and specific competences.
Historical book in Siberia and the Far East in the XVIII – beginning of XX century: results and the prospects for studying
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:08The paper considers the main results of a historical book studying – its publishing, disseminating and functioning in Siberia and the Far East in the XYIII th – early XX th centuries. Proposed are periodizations in studying history of historical book in the region and that of activities in publishing historical literature. Discussed is the concept of «historical book» and its typology with respect to Siberia and the Far East during XVIII – beginning of XX century. The directions for future investigations are outlined.

The book of the past as a source of new knowledge

The main purpose of this article is to characterize the views of bibliologists and library scientists on the role of books in culture development. The authors argue that the definition of the scientific truth criteria in library science, the analysis of its epistemological bases are impossible without studying evolution of the library science theory.

The author analyses the robots' access to two types of website documents with constant or irregular renovations. The result of testing, based on the materials of www.prometeus.nsc.ru, reveals essential difference between the main home and foreign search engines.
