База данных «Труды сотрудников НИУ СО РАН по наноструктурам, наноматериалам и нанотехнологиям»: структура и возможности наукометрических исследований на ее основе

A bibliographic database «The publications of SB RAS research workers on nanostructures, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies» (2000-2009) is presented. Its possibilities for multifactorial scientometric analysis of scientific activity which allow to get and analyze the quantitative and factual data. The proposed method of scientometric analysis is applicable for studying any scientific research directions.

Scientometric Analysis of Research on Information and Library Policy

The article presents tools for searching and analyzing keywords in the scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.ru. On the basis of identifying common keywords in research on information and library policy, as well as determining of the most used keywords in each of the scientific areas, the current state and prospects for the integration of library science, political science and sociological research are determined. The author comes to the following conclusions.

The operational experience of two scientific organizations with records on publications of employees in databases Web of Science (WoS), Scopus and Russian Science Citation Index (SRSCI). The attention is paid to own developments on application of the raw data taken from these DB, allowing in the automated mode to trace operatively the basic bibliometric indicators on a concrete person and organisation as a whole.

Scientometrics today is an effective tool to analyze and evaluate the activities of scientific organizations, as well as to form strategies and forecasts for the development of scientific research. To carry out scientometric research, specialists are required with the knowledge and skills to work with scientometric data. Such specialists can be employees of research libraries. The purpose of the study is to determine the role of the research library in carrying out scientometric works in the interests of research organizations.
