Science today is the key factor of social development and focus of the government policy. The published and globally acknowledged research results reflect the advance of the national science. The author assesses the publication activity of Russian scientists within the context of the goals of the national sci-tech policy.

The aim of the article is to analyze functional possibilities of accessible information sources to solve bibliometric tasks of researchers and scientific organizations based on criteria of “Methodology for accessing the development of interdisciplinary research and the activities of research organizations”, used in the Central Scientific Library of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS). The article considers scientific information search systems as alternative sources of scientometric data in the absence of access to the Web of Science and Scopus.
In the second part of the study, the authors analyze the publication activity related to the use of the term “scientific legacy” in international academic literature indexed in the OpenAlex database. The comparative analysis revealed the key differences in approaches, semantic interpretations, and thematic emphases between the international and Russian scholarly practices.
The two-stage study was conducted to analyze publication activity related to the use of the term “scientific legacy” in academic literature. The first stage focused on the theoretical conceptualization of scientific legacy as a key element of continuity in science and on the comprehensive bibliometric analysis of publications containing this term, published in journals indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) database. The applied methodology includes metadata analysis of publications using bibliometric methods and statistical data processing.

Identifying the changing trends in international scientific cooperation is a crucial task of scientometrics. The relevance of the study is related to the need to assess the level of development of scientific knowledge and the degree of development of individual scientific problems in the field of agricultural economics. The purpose of this work is to study the dynamics of the number of publications in the field of agricultural economics in Russia and highlight their main topics. The main research method is content analysis within the bibliometric research. The results indicate great attention of scientists to various aspects of agricultural economics.
The need for evaluating scientific research demands adjusting methodology. Today, the two existing approaches, namely bibliometrical analysis and expert opinion, will not meet the demands of researchers and administrators if used separately. Based on the reviews, reports and personal practical experience, the author examines the pros and cons of these two approaches and concludes on the need to integrate them so they complement one another.
The authors attempt the bibliometric and scientometric approach toward analysis of scientific cooperation in research of moral dilemmas and moral choice using Scopus bibliometric tools. The sector-specific dimension of the studies of moral dilemmas and moral choice is considered. The authors conclude that the share of psychological journals on the subject has significantly increased with dominating psychological research problems (in contrast to the traditional philosophical dimension).
