This article is dedicated to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s Great Victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. The aim of this study is to determine the contribution of the main structural units of Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy to the victory over Nazism comprehensively by identifying its main areas.
The purpose of the article is to characterize the documentary stream (DS) of front-line diaries publications of Siberians – participants in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945). The article shows the place of diaries in source studies and the importance of diary entries for the study of anthropological content and “psychology of war”. It grounds the reasons for the paucity of front-line diaries in comparison with other types of egodocuments (memoirs, letters).
The object of the article is to present the results of research aimed at identifying data on memorial information resources about Siberians – the participants of the Great Patriotic War and serving on the home front.
The purpose of the article is to provide an overview of the modern practice of publishing military ego-documents (memoirs, diaries, correspondence). Over the past 30 years of post-Soviet history, this process, according to the observations of the author of the article, has gone through two stages.
The author gives credits to Alexander Mikhailovich Mazuritsky’s educational efforts. A. Mazuritsky is a prominent library scholar, expert in the library history, Doctor of Science in Pedagogy, Dean of the Library Information Department of Moscow State Institute of Culture (MSIC), Professor of the Information Analytics Chair of Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU). The author reviews Mazuritsky’s professional and public efforts as a historian, pedagogue and educator in the sphere of higher professional training.
The theme of «war and the book» is very versatile. Dozens of papers have been published for seventy years after the World War II, which contents reflect different aspects of publishing activity and specificity of the book social existence under battlefront and home front various conditions. The authors try to convince that the book was an active participant in the national struggle against invaders, an effective mean of mobilizing spiritual forces to fight the enemy and the way of entertainment.
