The history of the country is a source of social experience, a certain system of coordinates, and the basis for an adequate response to modern problems. An appeal to the past can be useful in developing potential strategies for social development. Legislative documents of pre-revolutionary Russia appear to be a resource, an unbiased interpretation of which will contribute to the productive regulation of ethnic, religious and confessional issues and the further development of civil consent.

The study reveals the place and role of humanism in the philosophy of K. Marx and J.-P. Sartre. The existential aspects of their teachings that allow one to consider these philosophers as equal are analyzed. A comparison of humanistic motifs in Marx and Sartre's works has been made, and the conclusion is drawn that their description of the "world of alienation" is the same. However, they consider the pre-existing and post-existing reality differently, which is due to different positions on the relationship between essence and existence.

Modern Models of Buddhism as a Social Institution in Buryatia, Kalmykia and Tuva

In the sociocultural space of Russia, there are three main and independent Buddhist centers: Kalmyk, Buryat and Tuvan. An analysis of geopolitical landmarks, ideological position, and large religious organizations representing this faith in the region shows that three different models of Buddhism as a social institution have developed: globally oriented (Kalmykia), ethnocentric (Buryatia), and regionally oriented (Tuva).

The prolonged domination of the neoclassical economic school led to the emphasis on the role of formal, quantitative factors and laws. There was a certain narrowing and abstraction of a set of analyzed indicators, exclusion of cultural, social, religious factors as having no causal potential. However, the socio-economic motivation of a person is extremely complex and ambiguous. A full-fledged analysis of economic processes cannot be done without taking into account non-economic elements - religion and culture.
