The role of socio-philosophical theories in ideas about the integration and disintegration of societies (based on T. J. Bernard’s approach)

The article is devoted to the revision of the validity of opposing the concepts of social integration as a consensus and social disintegration as a conflict. The methodological basis is the rethinking of the back-ground assumptions of influential socio-philosophical theories proposed by T. J. Bernard. It is shown that along with the understanding of social integration as order and consolidation, and disintegration as conflict and deviation, there are also other interpretations in the structure of socio-philosophical thought.

Russian scientific schools, as special phenomenon, which formation is a consequence of the cultural and historical development of country, cannot develop in isolation: close interaction between researchers of all levels and ages is necessary. In the conditions of the development of the information society and the emerging knowledge society, not only the involvement of young people in science, but also the interpersonal interaction of young scientists who are representatives of various scientific schools and professional communities is of particular relevance.

The paper considers institutional mechanisms and substantive approaches to managing the processes of migrant integration into the host community. The analysis is carried out in the framework of studying practical models for regulating the transformation of polyethnic communities and uses data from several countries in the European Union. It is shown that the models of practical regulation of integration processes are based on the understanding of integration as a two-way process and are primarily expressed in changes in social institutions and relations between them.

State-civil and ethnic identities are considered, on the one hand, as equally important factors shaping the consciousness of modern man, and on the other, as determinants of ethno-national politics. It is concluded that with equal relevance of both types of identity for the individual, in real politics the development of state-civic identity is given more importance, whereas methods for the development of ethnic identity are not always effective.

The determinants of the development of the interethnic community are considered from the standpoint of the sociocultural approach and are exemplified with the community of the Altai Republic. The set of determinants includes social, cultural and personal components, and the content of each of them is indicated by a number of variables. It is concluded that the socio-cultural development of the Republic of Altai is hampered by economic factors rather than interethnic problems.
