Study of resistance of grape shoots to low temperatures when treated with abscisic acid

The studies were conducted on the plots of the ampelographic collection of the Anapa Zonal Experimental Station of Viticulture and Winemaking in 2023–2024. The aim of the research is to study the resistance of Dmitry grape shoots to low negative temperatures during the winter period when treated with abscisic acid (ABA) of various concentrations with the addition of magnesium sulfate. The plants were treated at the end of the growing season.

Tomato crops are susceptible to a significant number of diseases that reduce both yield and product quality, requiring the improvement of genetic diversity and the creation of genetically resistant varieties. Solanum sisymbriifolium Lam. is a source of resistance to bacterial wilt, verticillium wilt, root nematodes, carmine spider mites and late blight. The hybridization of tomato and sticky nightshade is feasible, but involves difficulties in overcoming prezygotic and postzygotic barriers to non-crossing.

Lateral roots play an important role in the formation of an extensive rootage, and therefore determine plant’s potential in search and consumption of water and mineral nutrients and its mechanical attachment to the soil. In contrast to initiation, the development of lateral roots after their emergence from the main root has relatively recently become a separate object of scientific research. Based on the length, an angle relative to the gravity vector, and the number of cells in the columella, six stages of lateral root development have been distinguished.
