Features of red-berried elder (Sambucus racemose L.) fruit growth and development in the Moscow Region, Russia

The investigation of plants with high bioresource potential from renewable sources, whether native or cultivated in Russia, is of significant importance. Sambucus racemosa L., a European understory species, accumulates fatty oils and is traditionally used in cosmetics and medicine. This study investigated the fruit development of red-berried elder, using fruits collected from the S.I. Rostovtsev Botanical Garden (Moscow) during 2021–2022.

Physiological changes during dormancy onset in apple clonal rootstocks developed at Michurinsk State Agrarian University

This article presents the results of long-term studies on physiological changes during dormancy onset in apple clonal rootstocks developed at Michurinsk State Agrarian University: red-leaved forms 54–118, 62–396, and 70–20–20, and green-leaved rootstock 76–16–11. It was shown that the anthocyanin content in the bark of shoots fluctuated annually in rootstock 54–118, ranging from 77 to 110 units, and in rootstock 62–396, ranging from 58 to 80 units. Sugar accumulation in the bark of these rootstocks was approximately at the same level (3.0–4.5%).

The authors studied the growth characteristics (morphophysiological indicators) of broilers ’ digestive organs when using Pharmatan in the diet at doses of 0.025; 0.05 and 0.075%. For the study, three medium-weight broiler chickens were selected - on a daily basis for the first three days, then on a weekly basis. The mass of the stomach, individual intestines, the mass of internal organs, and the coefficient of growth rate were determined according to Brody. To study the relative growth rate, the simple allometry formula y = ax b was used.

Current state of soils in forest nurseries in the taiga zone of European part of Russia

When producing planting material in the taiga zone, it is extremely important to assess problematic sites in forest nurseries. Attention should be paid to poor soil quality, which can significantly affect the growth rate of seedlings and the yield of standard planting material. The article considers a comprehensive assessment of soil conditions in forest nurseries of the taiga zone of the European part of Russia. The research was conducted in six forest nurseries. Agrochemical and physical properties of soils were determined.

The article presents data on the results of testing complex micronutrients when sowing seeds of Robinia pseudoacacia L. and Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe. at a production nursery. Stratification provides seeds with rapid germination under optimal conditions of oxygen access and maintaining a humidity level and temperature of 10°C. Fertilizers “Volski Biochem” are able to increase the energy of germination of seeds of the studied species, increase their growth rate and contain all the necessary nutrients for plants.

The research is devoted to a comprehensive study of blueberry angustifolia, which is a promising berry shrub for cultivation in the Middle Urals. The aim of the work was an integral assessment of the prospects for introduction and the yield of blueberry when cultivated in the Middle Cis-Urals. The studies were carried out using widely accepted methods. Morphometric characteristics of plants in 2020: plant height – 40.6±3.2 cm, crown diameter – 59.4±3.3 cm, average productivity – 854.7±60.1 g, average berry weight – 0.97 ± 0.10 g.

The paper deals with some issues related to the meat productivity development of three breeds of sheep of different production purposes: Kuibyshev (meat-wool), Romanov (wool skin) and Texel (meat). Most studies on meat productivity are based on determining the carcass composition: all the muscles, bones, and fat tissue. It should be taken into account that the muscles that form the animal’s body differ in their internal structure depending on the location and function.
