Marketing methods of evaluating services of both readers and library users online are important to improve the quality of library-information servicing. The most commonly used methods to assess the quality of library services are statistical indicators analysis of activities (attendance, the number of resources/services access, etc.); surveillance; user survey; questionnaires; analysis of online services and Internet resources to determine the level of user satisfaction (online questionnaires, «like» estimates and others).
25 апреля 2010 г. в Государственной публичной научно-технической библиотеке Сибирского отделения РАН прошел очередной методологический семинар по теме «Специфика исследовательских подходов к изучению традиционной и электронной книги». Учитывая дискуссионный характер темы, семинар проводился в форме «круглого стола», что дало возможность участникам изложить некоторые результаты своих наблюдений и исследований, обменяться мнениями по актуальным проблемам сосуществования традиционных и электронных изданий.
The article represents major issues of academic subject «Libraries architecture and design» at the library-information faculty of Saint-Petersburg State Institute of Culture. Authors examine the course evolution, present its scientific and educational base (dissertations, monographs, textbooks, etc.). Goals and objectives of the discipline are identified. The represented structure of the discipline contains the following sections: 1. Introduction to architecture. Theoretical bases of architectural design; 2. Architecture and planning of library buildings. 3.
A description of a new concept - the phenomenon of intellectual nature as one of the most large-scale and complex for science natural phenomena, understanding of which may start a new era in the development of science, economics, policy and civilization, is given. The consequences of its introduction into scientific use are predicted. The chances of Russia to become a world leader in this direction and efficiently develop social, technical and fundamental scientific knowledge are estimated.
This article discloses the correlation between activity motivation and behavior of the library staff, describes the theories of professional education, the models of adaptive behavior, the levels of creative ability development.
The subject of the article is automated systems worked out by the Library for Natural Sciences (LNS) specialists: the expert system of acquisition, the publications` ordering system supported by RFBR, virtual exhibitions. In all these systems, the user is provided with the access to bibliographic descriptions and electronic samples of editions` pages from LNS funds.
