The notion and the structure of nanoreality phenomenon and its components are considered.
The article examines the role of a famous American scientist Eugene Garfield in creating Web of Science, one of the world largest modern systems for indexing and citing scientific publications. The author notes the importance of considering not only quantitative but qualitative parameters to evaluate the science development, which have been indicated by Garfield. The paper contains historical information about the Web of Science system creation; characterizes general features of the modern state system. It shows the system importance as a possible tool of scientometric analysis.

Today the term “monograph” requires careful consideration, since the essence of the term itself is being changed over time and it takes into account the changing conditions in scholarly communication. The purpose of article is by means of the terminological analysis to identify the essential attributes of monograph, reflected in its various definitions.
The article describes how the private library of the research worker of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinsky House) B. I. Koplan appeared in the National Library of Russian, its volume and content, as well as
individual peculiarities of its copies (exlibrises, autographs). Unknown materials of the scientist`s library
are considered in professional, creative and biographic aspects and enable to bring into a scientific use the additional data of concrete biographic charactor.
The article concerns the necessity to overestimate the library management system under conditions of the information society, global automation of library processes and transition to digital libraries, and consequently it emphasizes the importance of creating a new structural unit dealing with information-analytical activity. It describes the requirements for an automated information-analytical system of library management as a part of the system to support management decisions making.
The article studies the history of the development of children’s books in Canada. The author emphasises the main political, socio-economic and cultural factors that affect this process and form its unique characteristics. The hypothesis that «Canadian cultural identity» cannot yet be defined since it is continually, significantly affected by domestic issues and foreign cultures is proposed and analysed. The author analyses the historical way of Canadian children’s book development.
