Assessment of efficiency and phytotoxicity of herbicides for corn

The aim of our research was to study the effect of modern highly effective herbicides on weeds and corn plants. One of the criteria for assessing the effectiveness of herbicides is the manifestation phytotoxicity signs of on corn. Phytotoxicity reduces corn grain yield, and plant death may occur if significant damage occurs. The resistance of corn plants to herbicides is determined by the genetic characteristics of hybrids and self-pollinated lines, and depends on external factors, in particular, on air temperature during the chemical treatment of crops.

Modified composition of microbial community in the rhizosphere of transgenic tomato plants with a glycine betaine syntesis gene

The change in the composition of soil microbiota as a result of the cultivation of various crops in agrocenoses is currently of great interest. The authors studied the effect of the root system of transgenic tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) grown in soil culture on the microbial community in the rhizosphere. The results showed that as a result of the cultivation of transgenic plants with the choline oxidase gene, the microbial community composition in the rhizosphere has changed significantly.

The paper briefly discusses the situation with private farm enterprises in Russia over the period of the development of a mixed farm economy and its transition to market relations after 1990. The author considers conditions and difficulties of the farm enterprise activities for the period prior to the 2006 census and between the 2006 and 2016 agricultural censuses. The size, composition and dynamics of the resources of personal subsidiary and other private farms as well as non-profit associations established during this period are assessed in detail.

Effi cacy of ridomil gold r as bactericide against potato black leg pathogen

Bactericidal activity of copper-containing fungicide Ridomil Gold R (WDG) was tested in framework of potato black leg control. Three strains of bacteria causing potato black leg were employed in the trials: Dickeya chrysanthemi (DSM 4610, Germany), Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. brasiliensis (Russia, Omsk region), Pectobacterium wasabiae (Russia, Kemerovo reg.). The activity was estimated in vitro by counting colony number on PDA agar with 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 1.0% of the fungicide. According to the results, for all the tested bacteria Ridomil Gold R had LD100 = 0.2%.

Phytopathogenic fungi are among the most common and dangerous plant pathogens, causing significant crop losses and considerable economic costs. The greatest damage to agricultural crops is caused by fungi of the genus Fusarium, making the study of their distribution, species diversity and diagnostic methods more in demand every year. This is particularly important for breeding purposes. The determination of the species composition of this pathogen allows not only to evaluate the level of infestation, but also to perform preventive selection for resistance to Fusarium.

The study aims to improve winter wheat cultivation technology in the arid zone of the Stavropol Krai based on the optimization and renewal of the variety base of winter wheat grown by NoTill technology. The authors carried out the work in 2019-2020 in the arid zone of the Stavropol Krai. In the experiment to evaluate winter wheat varieties grown on pea and sunflower forerunners, there were 15 varieties of different breeding. The variety Yuka was used as a control. The total size of the experimental plot - 1.9 ha. Pea forerunner yield was 23.92-39.44 c/ha, depending on the variety.

Morphofunctional characteristics and allometric growth of muscles in sheep breeds of different production purposes

The paper deals with some issues related to the meat productivity development of three breeds of sheep of different production purposes: Kuibyshev (meat-wool), Romanov (wool skin) and Texel (meat). Most studies on meat productivity are based on determining the carcass composition: all the muscles, bones, and fat tissue. It should be taken into account that the muscles that form the animal’s body differ in their internal structure depending on the location and function.

The relevance of the research is due to the tendency of using concentrated forms of milk and whey proteins in food products, ice cream in particular, to increase protein content and reduce raw material costs. The purpose of this work was to study the quality indicators of the most produced in Russia Plombières ice cream with partial replacement of milk solids non-fat (MSNF) with whey protein concentrates and hydrolysates. A significant effect of whey protein concentrates and hydrolysates on the dynamic viscosity and air saturation ability of the mixture was found.
