Effect of nitrogen nutrition on yield and yield structure elements of spring barley varieties bred by FRC “Nemchinovka”

The response of ten spring barley varieties bred by FRC “Nemchinovka” to increasing nitrogen nutrition has been studied. A positive effect of nitrogen fertilisation on the yield growth and the main elements of barley yield structure was found. The varieties Nadezhnyi, Raushan and Zlatoyar were highly responsive to more intensive nitrogen nutrition.

The year 2023 is a special year for domestic selection: this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Plant Breeding and Seed Production at Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, the first department of this profile in Russia. Among the rapid changes in everyday life in post-revolutionary Russia, much was possible even in such a conservative environment as education.

The article analyzes the results of the studies to assess the role of weather conditions in the formation of gluten in spring wheat grain in the conditions of the Krasnoyarsk forest-steppe. The researchers carried out the work based on the experiments conducted in the educational farm “Minderlinskoe” of Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University in 2013-2021. At the present stage in Siberia, it is not always possible to equate high yields with good grain qualities. More often, there is a negative trend.

Effect of attractant dosages on the pheromone monitoring performance of the brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys (Stal, 1855) in an orchard agroecosystem

This article presents the results of the research on the effect of attractant dosages in pheromone preparations for the brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (Stal, 1855) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), on its monitoring efficiency in an orchard agroecosystem. The research was carried out in 2020-2021 in a peach orchard nearby Erd town, Hungary. Russian-produced pheromone preparations were used within pyramidal traps. It was observed that with increasing pheromone dosage the average catch rate of H. halys definitely increased.

Changing climatic conditions have led to increased focus on sustainable farming methods, which include the development of adaptive varieties. Interspecific and intergenerational hybridization makes it possible to significantly strengthen the resistance of new varieties to abiotic and biotic stress. Trititrigia (×Trititrigia cziczinii Tzvel., 1973) is a new grain crop with features and economically useful properties derived from wild cereals. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the contribution of ear productivity elements of modern trititrigia samples to its productivity.

In the studies, hatched eggs from 39-week-old meat and laying hens of the autosex cross “Dominant CZ” from the parental flock of LLC “Agrokormservis Plus” (Pyatigorsk) were used in three-tier cage batteries: “Sussex D-104” (“D-104”) – ♂ and ♀ Sussex, “Blue D-107” (“D-107”) – ♂ Andalusian Blue and ♀ Black-striped Plymouth Rock (PP), “Black D-849” (“D-849”) – ♂ Black-striped Plymouth Rock (PP) and ♀ Rhode Island. The shelf life of the eggs before incubation is three days. All the eggs were marked with a serial number and weight prior to incubation. Incubation of eggs from 144 to 150 pcs.

Development features from seeds and seed productivity of the rare Central Asian endemic species Allium backhousianum Regel

The article presents the results of an introductory study of Allium backhousianum Regel : development features from seeds, phenology, morphometry, reproductivity and reproduction. This rare endemic plant of Uzbekistan grows in the middle belt of the mountains of Central Asia. The pregenerative period is 7–8 years. According to the phenorythmotype, it is a short-tagging, spring-earlylethally flowering ephemeroid. Flowering is annual, taking place mainly in the 3rd decade of May. The flowering phase is 8–15 days. The seeds ripen in July.

Assessment of embryonic mortality of meat and egg chickens

Two studies used incubation eggs of 26-40-week-old meat and egg autosex chickens of “Dominant CZ” crosses - “D-104”, “D-107”, “D-149”, “D-192”, kept in cages. Eggs were incubated in the incubators “Stimul IP-16M” and “Stimul IV-16M” by the standard regime, turning the eggs at 43-45 degrees every 45 min. Study 1 used 699894 eggs with a storage period of 2-8 days (control trays contained 22923 eggs). Study 2 used 2016 eggs after storage for four and eight days.
