Sensitivity of the causative agent of net blotch of barley (Pyrenophora teres) to a two-component fungicide based on triazole and strobilurine classes

The study was conducted to investigate the sensitivity of net blotch of barley (pathogen – Pyrenophora teres Drechsler) to two-component fungicides based on triazole and strobilurine classes. The work was carried out on intact barley plants and in pure culture of the fungus using four preparations (Amistar Extra, SC, Amistar Gold, SC, Baliy, MC, Delaro, SC) and five treatment options with different application rates from those recommended by the manufacturers (0 (control without fungicide), 50%, 100% (manufacturers’ recommended rate), 150%, 200%).

The studies were carried out at LLC Ruch’evskoe-1, Rzhevsky district, Tver region in 2012…2018 during development of low-yielding, previously reclaimed lands that were retired from circulation. The total area of arable land is 5297 hectares, the soils are sod-podzolic, light loamy in terms of particle size distribution.

The need to improve the quality and accuracy of measurements of the composition and properties of milk and dairy products leads to the wider use of modern analysis methods, including methods of molecular genetic research. The use of the PCR analysis method to identify the species composition of dairy products is the most promising. The paper considers the possibility of developing a measurement technique for assessing the composition and properties of milk and dairy products using molecular genetic methods of analysis (PCR, PCR-RFLP, and sequencing).

Comparative assessment of semen quality parameters of Dzhalginsky Merino and Russian Meat Merino rams depending on the season

Many breeds of sheep show pronounced seasonality in reproduction. The aim of the study was to study quantitative and qualitative characteristics of semen taken from Dzhalginsky Merino (DzM) and Russian Meat Merino (RMM) rams in different seasons of the year. Semen samples were taken from five rams of each breed weekly for 12 months using an artificial vagina. The study results showed significant (P<0.05) seasonal variations in semen concentration and survival.

Botanical evaluation of medicinal potential of bittersweets (Celastrus L.)

The genus Celastrus L. (bittersweets) includes about 35 species of woody lianas, growing in Australia, Madagascar, America and Asia, including Russian Far East. Some species, used in Russia and abroad for vertical gardening are not only decorative, but partially edible and even medicinal. The content of biologically active compounds in the leaves and other structures of bittersweets has been studied fragmentarily. Cyclitol, catechins, and glycosides of kaempferol and quercetin were found in plants.

When the Petrovsky Agricultural and Forestry Academy was founded, the Department of Mineralogy and Geognosy was established, along with other departments. The course of geology, taught at the department, had an applied significance as well as a huge ideological and educational value. During its existence, a scientific and pedagogical school in the field of crystallography, mineralogy and geology was established. A study was carried out to assess the quality of frozen-thawed semen using the sex separation method and the traditional method in a comparative aspect, and the authors believe that the work will be of some interest to specialists in zootechnical and biological fields, as well as to veterinary specialists. The work was carried out at the Federal Research Center for Animal Husbandry named after Academy Member L.K. Ernst and on the basis of LLC “Agrofirma Zarya”, Bogorodsky district, Nizhny Novgorod region in the period from 2017 to 2022. usng the semen of eight sires.
