APOLOGETICS OF ATHENAGORAS OF ATHENS

The article contains an analysis of the apologetics of Athenagoras of Athens, the author of the apology «Legatio Pro Christianis» and the treatise «On the Resurrection of the Body». It examines the form of texts, the audience and the functions of apologetics, the dogmatic views of Athenagoras. A conclusion is made that the apology was directed both at the pagan intellectual elite for which the presentation of the Christian doctrine is made, and at the Christians themselves.

THE IMAGE OF SHANKARA IN BHAKTIVEDANTA’S PURPORTS

The article deals with the hermeneutic setting of the famous Vaishnava thinker A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada, which was called ambivalent. In accordance with it, the majority of both Vaishnava and non-Vaishnava Indian philosophers are accepted in two ways. On the one hand, Prabhupada obviously uses their intellectual know-how, on the other hand, critically examines their heritage. As a characteristic example in this article, an analysis of the ambivalent attitude of Prabhupada to the personality and teachings of the great thinker of the early Indian Middle Ages - Shankara.

SOCIO-CULTURAL DETERMINANTS OF DEVELOPMENTOF THE INTERETHNIC COMMUNITY OF THE ALTAI REPUBLIC

The determinants of the development of the interethnic community are considered from the standpoint of the sociocultural approach and are exemplified with the community of the Altai Republic. The set of determinants includes social, cultural and personal components, and the content of each of them is indicated by a number of variables. It is concluded that the socio-cultural development of the Republic of Altai is hampered by economic factors rather than interethnic problems.

The article discusses the main elements of Goethe’s spiritual influence on Hegel’s philosophical constructions and the influence of the Hegelian system on Goethe’s whole worldview. The views of Goethe and Hegel on history, nature, free human spirit and philosophy itself, as the basis of productive human culture, largely coincided genetically from a single temporal and sociocultural flow.

The article discusses the problem of mind control (brainwashing) and its detection. The mind control theory and R. Lifton`s and M. Singer`s models of mind control are critically reviewed, the limitations of these models are analyzed, and the question of scientific relevance of the reviewed mind control theory is raised.
