В. А. Эрлих The purpose of this article is to present information on the publication of educational and instructional literature in Eastern Siberia at the beginning of the 20th century. The work provides an overview of contemporary research on the subject and presents statistical data regarding regional publication output, as well as information on availability of such literature in libraries and its representation in the printed catalogs. The comparison of the output of educational and instructional literature in Eastern Siberia at the beginning of the 20th century with the preceding period revealed quantitative growth. Furthermore, the range of disciplines covered by these publications expanded significantly. However, Eastern Siberia lagged significantly behind Western Siberia and the Russian Far East, due to the absence of higher education institutions in the region. Educational and methodological literature that was published consisted primarily of reports, surveys, catalogs, and works on the history of educational institutions.
