The dissemination of scientific knowledge in society is an important vector of work of all social institutions. The library, as one of the leading cultural institutions, takes on this function and implements it through its work with readers. This article examines libraries activities to disseminate scientific knowledge in African countries. This article presents the results of a study of accessible library websites in Africa. The LENS.ORG platform ( https://www.lens.org/ ) was used to search for literary sources. As a result of the analysis of available sources, a conclusion was made about the low level of dissemination of scientific information in African countries. This is due to such problems as poor Internet performance, the general level of infrastructure development, in particular power outages, and low qualifications of library staff. Despite the fact that libraries host scientific conferences, lectures and seminars, work in this direction is at its initial stage. The author concludes that the joint activities of government agencies, cultural and scientific institutions can lead to high-quality and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge in all segments of society.
