The author retraces the story of his friendship and scholarly interaction with Yury N. Stolyarov, from the encounter to the last meeting, and recollects the closest cooperation periods. Y. L. Shrayberg emphasizes the role of Y. N. Stloyarov in his academic career. He mentions the points of their disagreement, namely the number of elements of the library basic formula, definition of “electronic library”. The author also appreciates Stolyarov’s contribution to his three-volume book project “My friend Katya Genieva”.
The authors discuss the sci-tech libraries in historical aspect; these libraries make the key element of the national system of sci-tech information and information services and support national science and technology. They follow the dynamics of building the network of research institutions and special sci-tech libraries that replaced technical, factory and company libraries.
The article is a tribute to Arkady Vasilyevich Sokolov, Russian scientist, professor, Doctor of Science in pedagogy, researcher in the field of librarianship, informatics and social communications theory. Beside the professional relations, there was friendship of many years between Sokolov and the author.
The authors discuss the results of building interreflections (matches) of research specialty codes and GRNTI subject headings based on the comparative intellectual analysis. The current master version of the State Rubricator of Scitech Information (SRSTI, GRNTI) and the verified version of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC, VAK) are compared.

The author examines e-libraries as a subdivision of the new discipline of e-librarianship. The e-libraries as a particular subject of the library information environment emerged in 1990s, and in the mid-decade, the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology (RNPLS&T) introduced its first e-collections. In 2020–2022, within the framework of the new research theme “Electronic Librarianship”, the RNPLS&T was developing the subjects of e-librarianship entity and definition, as well as of the terminological system.

The authors discuss the findings of the study to compare relevant master versions of the State Rubricator of Sci-tech Information and Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) in Russian. The classifications are compared through the method of intellectual analysis of intrinsic and semantic characteristics of SRSTI subject headings and UDC main schedules and its general and special subdivision tables. The UDC compound numbers are assigned to over the half of all rubrication vertexes. Over one third of SRSTI headings are assigned the compound UDC numbers made of two+ simple or compound numbers.
