Editions of Works by A.S. Pushkin in the Russian Abroad (1917–1988): To the 225th Anniversary of his Birth

For the first time, the history of publication of works by A.S. Pushkin is restored in Russian Abroad. The chronology of the periods of publications of the poet in emigration is reconstructed. There, the works of A.S. Pushkin’s works were published in all types of publications – in academic ones, works collections, selected works, publications for adult readers children, for educational purposes. The main attention was paid to the publishing houses that published the books of the great Russian poet in the capitals and in the main centers of the book business of the Russian emigration.

The article is devoted to reference literature printed in Russian in China in the first half of the XX century. Such literature was published in Russian in Harbin, Tianjin, Shanghai and other cities of China and was very important for emigrants in their daily lives or for moving around the country. Attached are examples of informational and professional reference books published by the Chinese Eastern Railway (CER). Biographies of authors and publishers are noted: S. M. Fomenko, Ar.-K. Yu. von Landesen, P. V. Shkurkin, N. M. Dobrokhotov, S. T. Ternovsky, G. G. Satovsky-Rzhevsky, N. N.

Turgenev Public Library in Paris as a cultural center of Russian emigration in late XIX - early XX centuries

Turgenev Public Library history in late XIX - the first third of the XX centuries is represented. The reasons of the library popularity growth among the Russian emigrants after 1917 revolutions are revealed. It was found that since the establishment of Turgenev Public Library the Russian official authority in France had negative attitude towards it, therefore the most of readers were political emigrants and students. At the time the visitors did not have enough money for the library maintenance, this fact put it under constant threat of closure.
