Stages of marketing development in general and library marketing in particular are considered. Prospects of library marketing development in Russia depend on the National Electronic Library project and the concept 3.0 of marketing. The historical continuity of library marketing and library pedagogy is demonstrated.

The characteristics of historiographical studies on the topic of library censorship and special depositories in Russia and abroad is given.
The paper is devoted to the publishing annotation genre. The State Standard requirements to an annotation and cases of abstracts are represented. Studying reader's perception of publishing annotations was undertaken in order to identify the reasons for their non-compliance. The readers group of 98 persons with average, undergraduate and graduate education was surveyed. They were asked to answer a series of questions, in particular, to identify: Do they read annotations to editions? Do annotations influence the choice of books? What information do readers want to get from the summary?

To improve the library education in the Republic of Cameroon, the author analyzes current pedagogical technologies, which are considered as a kind of social technologies, and included various aspects and levels. In the absence of a generally accepted classification of educational technologies, nevertheless, five main groups are revealed by a type of training: contextual, problematic, project, game, interactive ones.
Brief characteristics of basic notions applied to the theory of domestic journal fund core are given. Main evolution stages of domestic journals’ stock investigations in SPSTL SB RAS and strategic tasks facing the departments working with periodicals are designated.
