Some estimates of the book collection accession dynamics in the Library on Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:08The paper analyzes data on the flow of non-periodical publications entering the collections of the Centralized Library System headed by the Library for Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LNS RAS). The analysis is carried on for a five-year interval (2013-2017). It gives the general annual quantitative characteristics of domestic and foreign publications acquisition. The author shows a sharp drop in the number of incoming foreign, as well as translated publications, on natural sciences.

Different approaches for studying information interaction of readers with a library site using non-verbal means are described. The analysis of visual signs on library sites allowed to reveal the diversity of signs, aims and ways of their use.
Methodical support of SB RAS libraries network activity: an alternative variant of development

More than fifty years SPSTL SB RAS has been providing organizational, managerial and administrative functions in relation to libraries of the network. Consequently, there were hierarchical relationships among them with the leading role of SPSTL SB RAS. In 2008 the labor legislation changed, and a new legal situation appeared.

The chronology covers over 1,250 library and related events and facts that took place in the period from the mid XI-XX centuries. The paper reveals basic methodological problems of chronological surveys and gives methodical recommendations to overcome them. It notes that the foundation to construct the chronological table should be a model of historical development on which basis is the selection of specific events.
