The results of a system formation and corporate models of libraries co-operation for SB RAS libraries are considered, the main factors influencing the strategy of formation of academic libraries resource base are determined, highlighted are the problems of formation of new types of resources and the prospects for their inclusion in the information resource base of SB RAS are outlined.
Sociological research “Human resources of public libraries: modern requirements for professional activity and opportunities for its implementation” was carried out by the Far Eastern State Scientific Library. It was made on the base public libraries in Khabarovsk region within the framework of the partnership and cooperation agreement with the National Library of Belarus.
Prosopographic research is a kind of research used by specialists in different spheres of scientific knowledge including library science. It is applied to study historical issues in a wide range of problems of library science and librarianship development, which are relevant to modern period. Prosopographic research main stages are represented related to compiling a collective biography of a group of persons; advantages and limitations of a prosopographic method are analyzed, it is defined as a cross-disciplinary one.
The article is devoted to the problem of transition in Ancient Greece from oral culture to written one. Most foreign and domestic researchers associate the duration and instability of this transition with 1) peculiarities of organizing the political power, 2) the anthropomorphic specifics of Greek culture. The author proposes to analyze applying oral and written communications in the key works of such ancient Greek writers as Homer (Iliad, Odyssey), Hesiod (Theogony), Aeschylus (Petitioner), Aristophanes (Birds), as well as philosophical works of Plato (Fedr).
Perception of fiction as central phase of a reader activity is considered. Separate processes and characteristics of perception are illustrated by examples from the reviews of readers on the novel «Viy» by N. V. Gogol and the novel «One hundred years of solitude» by G. G. Marquez, published in Internet.

Enlightenment as well as cultural and educational activity plays a key role in forming cultural values. But educational activity of academic library is perceived in a limited context, that is why the article objective is to analyze an academic library activity as an educational and cultural center. The activity is expressed by a set of educational-information, leisure and cultural events as instruments to promote and develop scientific knowledge, to stimulate users’ reading activity, to form general human culture and specific competences.
The paper considers the main results of a historical book studying – its publishing, disseminating and functioning in Siberia and the Far East in the XYIII th – early XX th centuries. Proposed are periodizations in studying history of historical book in the region and that of activities in publishing historical literature. Discussed is the concept of «historical book» and its typology with respect to Siberia and the Far East during XVIII – beginning of XX century. The directions for future investigations are outlined.
