«Description of Siberia» by Nikifor Venyukov: on the history of introduction into scientific circulation of a Russian literature monument of the XVII сentury

The paper describes the process of primary accumulation of the information about the miscellanies including Description of Siberia studied in the system «text - context» and about the copies of the above mentioned work of Russian literature of the XVII century developed during the XVIII-XX centuries on the material of currently known printed descriptions of manuscripts.

Innokentij Ivanovich Tyzhnov as a translator of N. Witsen’s Siberian materials

The author investigates the translation from Dutch to Russian one of the «documents» on the conquest of Siberia by Ermak, published by N. Vitsen in his book «Noord en Oost Tartarye» (Amsterdam, 1705) and known today as the «The description of Siberia by Nikiphorus Venyukov». Considered are textual differences of the Dutch original and Russian translation made by I. I. Tyzhnovym. The role of I. I. Tyzhnov’s work for literary history «Siberia Description» is determined.

A review of the Permian edition as a religious art monument dated the late XVII century «Statyr» is given. Considered are its positive and negative aspects in the context of the reader's expectations. Assessed is the significance of «Statyr» publication for studying the XVII century monument of the oratory art.
