CYNICS AND THE HELLENISTIC ERA
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Thu, 09/05/2024 - 00:08It is established that the weakening of moral and ethical rigorism in the cynical doctrine in the Hellenistic era was associated with the radicalism of the ancient Cynics and the impossibility of its further preservation. It is also shown that in the philosophy of the Cynics in the Hellenistic era, two tendencies emerged: the alienation of the individual from society and the desire for political activity. Despite the involvement of individual Cynics in politics, Cynicism in the Hellenistic era retained its deeply individualistic character.
