The authors discuss the radical changes in the development strategy of the modern academic library in the digital transformation era. The KFU Scientific Library addresses these changes in the context of The Priority-2030 Project. The academic library’s strategy for the nearest future is described and characterized in detail. In their study, the authors substantiate the need for librarian personal growth and professional development to obtain relevant competences. The role of the proprietary e-library (repository) is emphasized.

The year 2023 is a special year for domestic selection: this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Plant Breeding and Seed Production at Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy, the first department of this profile in Russia. Among the rapid changes in everyday life in post-revolutionary Russia, much was possible even in such a conservative environment as education.

The scientific libraries participate in building the information and communication infrastructure being an integral part of the scientific, educational,socio-cultural and industrial complex of the region. The authors review in brief the evolution of the State Public Scientific and Technological Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPSTL SB RAS) – the leading information and library center of Siberia in the context of changing scientific and educational environment.

Publishing the findings of scientific research in reputable scientific publications affects the rate of knowledge dissemination. At the same time, most Belarusian scientific journals has been revising their publishing concept to meet the criteria set by citation indexes. The paper aim is to determine the status of the Belarusian scientific periodicals in the conditions of the developing model of electronic scientific communication in the post-Soviet states.

Prosopographic research is a kind of research used by specialists in different spheres of scientific knowledge including library science. It is applied to study historical issues in a wide range of problems of library science and librarianship development, which are relevant to modern period. Prosopographic research main stages are represented related to compiling a collective biography of a group of persons; advantages and limitations of a prosopographic method are analyzed, it is defined as a cross-disciplinary one.

It describes the research methodology; reflects bibliometrics and vebometric methods significance in such studies.
