Aerosol application of a rooting regulator for herbaceous cuttings of stone fruit rootstocks

The relevance of this work stems from the need to obtain a large amount of planting material for establishing and renewing commercial orchards. Accelerated propagation of rootstocks for stone fruit crops will contribute to the development of the fruit growing industry. This article presents two-year data on the aerosol application of 4-(indol-3-yl)butyric acid (IBA) for rooting herbaceous cuttings of clonal stone fruit rootstocks: OP 23–23, VSL-2, and plum cultivar Eurasia 21.

Features of flowering and fruit formation of Juglans regia L. with the lateral type of fruiting in the conditions of the Non-Chernozem region of Central Russia

The research was carried out at the Department of Fruit Crops of the Educational, Scientific and Production Center of Horticulture and Vegetable Crops named after V.I. Edelstein of the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in Moscow in 2021–2023. Flowering and fruiting of Juglans regia L. were evaluated during three years. It was found that J. regia plants with the lateral type of fruiting, which is characterized by the formation of female flowers in most axillary buds of the current year’s growth, have a high adaptive potential.

E.G. Samoshchenkov, V.K. Bakun, V.A. Maslova, L.P., Skali and others made a great contribution to the development of this technology. The basis of the technology of herbaceous cuttings is the natural ability of plants to restore lost organs or parts – regeneration, it gives an opportunity to obtain plants from leafy stem cuttings after the formation of their adventitious roots. The manifestation of regeneration is not uniform and largely depends on various factors, such as life form, genetic characteristics, age and condition of the mother plant, rooting conditions, etc.
