Adaptability of some ex vitro-adapted medicinal plants to the soil and climatic conditions of the Vologda region

The article presents the results of the study of phenological and morphological characteristics of medicinal plants obtained by clonal micropropagation and adapted ex vitro after transplanting to the open ground in the Vologda district of the Vologda region. At present, in the conditions of import substitution for obtaining domestic pharmaceutical raw materials, it is necessary to grow medicinal plants in demand industrially. Plants of the Hedysarum neglectum Ledeb., Hypericum perforatum L., Artemisia dracunculus L. (cultivars ‘Goodwin’, ‘Monarch’) were studied as research objects.

The most important factor affecting the morphometric parameters of seeds is the agrotechnical one, including fertilization, irrigation, pollination, and pest, disease and weed control. Timely harvesting is particularly important to prevent the most mature seeds from shattering, whereas premature harvesting increases the proportion of immature seeds with an underdeveloped germ. Mechanized harvesting, threshing and sorting technology can lead to seed injury, including germ damage.

Effect of mineral fertilizers on crop quality and yield in long-term stationary experiment in the climatic conditions of the Cis-Urals

A stationary field experiment carried out in 1978 on sod-podzolic heavy loamy soil (Eutric Albic Retisols (Abruptic, Loamic, Cutanic)) found that the application of mineral fertilizers in increasing doses led to acidification of the soil by the end of the fifth crop rotation in the arable layer with pH 5.6 when laying the experiment to pH 4.5 in the (NPK) 150 variant. The use of NPK at 90-150 kg ai/ha contributed to the preservation of the initial humus level, an increase in the content of mobile phosphorus to 452 and exchangeable potassium to 403 mg/kg.

Characteristics of sheep’s milk as raw material for the production of dairy products

The article considers the physico-chemical parameters of sheep’s milk. It is shown that sheep’s milk has a high biological and nutritional value due to the high content of protein and fat fractions. A characteristic feature of sheep’s milk is the size of fat balls. The average size is 5–7 microns and is dominant (38%), up to 3 microns – 17%, 3–5 microns – 27%, from 7 and more – 18%. It gives an opportunity to produce high-fat products based on sheep’s milk, such as butter, cream, ice cream, etc.

The stage of introduction into sterile culture plays an important role in clonal micropropagation. The purpose of these studies was to find the optimal sterilizing agent at the stage of introducing blue honeysuckle, red raspberry, garden strawberry, steppe cherry, house plum into in vitro culture, as well as the optimal nutrient medium at this stage for blue honeysuckle and red raspberry.

The aim of the study was to develop a new breeding material combining resistance to the main harmful diseases with high yield potential and good baking qualities of the grain. Productive, winterhardy winter wheat varieties of the FRC “Nemchinovka” breeding line, well adapted to the central region of the Russian Federation, and productive short-stemmed varieties of Hungarian selection with resistance to European populations of rust fungi, powdery mildew, fusarium and leaf spots were selected as parental components for crossing.

A significant part of bulky feed obtained from natural fodder lands is characterized by low quality due to the loss of valuable forage plants from herbage and non-observance of the terms and technologies of harvesting. Nutritional adjustment is an effective means of improving the composition of the herbage and the feed quality. To study the effect of various types and doses of fertilizers on the botanical composition and quality of forage for long-term hayfield at the FWRC FPA long-term field experiment has been conducted since 1947.

Use of preparations containing colloid silver in potato disease control

The paper presents the results of four-ear trials of preparations with silver nanoparticles Ze-rox, Zeromiks, and Zerebra Agro on varieties with varying degrees of resistance to the main potato diseases. The four-ear trials made it possible to conclude that preparations with silver nanoparticles were effective in protecting potatoes from rhizoctoniosis and alternariosis, comparable to the effectiveness of chemical treaters (Maxim and Celeste Top) and fungicides used in the treatment of vegetative plants (Abiga Peak andRidomil GoldMC).
