Book publishing in Vyatka region in the early XX century

The Russian government in the field of extracurricular education in the early XX century persuded certain goals: preserving the state foundations inviolability, spreading the Orthodoxy tenets, raising the people cultural level. These objectives were being realized through book publishing. The public policy conductors were the governor administration, Vyatka diocese. The local territorial self-government played a certain role. The article purpose is to consider the Russian state policy specifics on development of book publishing in the early XX century implemented in Vyatka region.

Publishing House of the Third Wave “Syntaxis” in France (1980–1992)

For the first time, the history of the publishing house of the third wave of Russian emigration “Syntaxis” is reconstructed, a brief outline of the history of the journal of the same name is given. The article provides a historiographic review of the study of the topic. The sources for funding the journal and the publishing house are identified. The activity of the “Syntaxis” printing house and the reasons of its origin are reconstructed. The role of the owners and founders of the publishing house M. V. Rozanova and A. D. Sinyavsky in the activities of the publishing house is shown.

The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in historic-bibliologic researches

The theme of «war and the book» is very versatile. Dozens of papers have been published for seventy years after the World War II, which contents reflect different aspects of publishing activity and specificity of the book social existence under battlefront and home front various conditions. The authors try to convince that the book was an active participant in the national struggle against invaders, an effective mean of mobilizing spiritual forces to fight the enemy and the way of entertainment.

The bibliosphere doctrine is a new contribution in library-information science

The article considers the concept of the bibliosphere functions entered by A. V. Sokolov, terminology denotations and description of separate functions of librarianship, book publishing, bookselling business and bibliographic information, as well as a document and a book. The unity of essence functions of documents, books, and all social institutes of bibliosphere is established. New names of specific social functions of librarianship, book publishing and bookselling institutions are offered from positions of documentology.
