Theoretical and practical justification of rootstock selection in vegetative reproduction of introduced species of the genus Syringa L. (Oleaceae) in the conditions of the Orenburg region
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The proper selection of rootstock and graft combinations in lilac introducers, in order to take full advantage of grafting, requires a thorough understanding of the synergy of cultivar-rootstock combinations, as well as the identification of factors that may influence this process. The article analyzes the results of three grafting experiments using Syringa vulgaris L. and Syringa josikaea J. Jacq. ex Rchb. seedlings and vegetative rootstocks (rooted shoots) of Syringa vulgaris L. as rootstocks. The grafting material was the dormant buds of four highly ornamental cultivars of S.
Floral sex ratios and anatomy of heterosexual plants in dioecious cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus l.) grown in Murmansk region
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The author studied gender ratios in three populations of a valuable dioecious plant - cloudberry grown in Kandalaksha district of Murmansk region. The paper describes the microstructure of flowering shoots in female and male cloudberries with the purpose of revealing new features of sexual dimorphism. Male individuals predominated in all of the studied populations. The largest percentage of female individuals was found on a forest site, the smallest percentage - in a boggy forest near a stream.
Changes in the fertility elements of various substrates depending on their composition when growing apple seedlings under the root-balled system
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The production of planting material for fruit, forest and ornamental perennial crops has been recently characterized by a tendency to obtain and use seedlings with a root-balled system (RBS) for setting out new plantings. To obtain the best results in the cultivation of this type of planting material, it is necessary to study a sufficiently large number of parameters, including the selection of the optimal soil substrate, taking into account its composition, which will depend on chemical and physical parameters, resistance to leaching of nutrients, etc.
Impact of pain stress on the adaptive capabilities of the blood system and welfare of horses
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The full genetic potential of productive animals can only be realised if high standards of welfare are maintained in production. One of the indicators of animal welfare is animal health, and one of the markers of various pathological processes is pain. Sports horse breeding is a specific concept in which the competent work of trainers and riders significantly effects on the health of animals, and therefore their performance, in addition to housing and feeding conditions.
Effect of water-holding agents on the decorative qualities of the lawn covering
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The effect of wetting agents on the decorative qualities of the lawn covering formed by the plants of the bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) of the ‘PLS’ variety mixture has been studied. The studies were carried out in a small-plot field experiment on sandy soil, in the conditions of the Moscow region. All research is aimed at studying the demand in the golf industry, which will help to understand the effectiveness and appropriateness of the use of investigational agents.
Peculiarities of organogenesis of hard cultured low-growing cultivars of sour cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) in in vitro culture
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The article presents the results of research on clonal micropropagation of sour cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) which is difficult to reproduce at the proliferation stage by traditional methods. A number of modern winter-hardy domestic cultivars of P. cerasus are promising for plantation cultivation of this crop in the Nonchernozem zone of the European part of Russia. The method of clonal micropropagation is advisable to obtain a large amount of healthy and genetically homogeneous rootstocks of fruit crops. Regenerated plants of P.
Therapeutic potency of estrophanthin in pseudo-pregnancy (hydrometra) of goats
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45The aim of the study was to carry out a comparative evaluation of the therapeutic potency of Estrophantine ® , a drug of the highly active synthetic analog of prostaglandin F 2 alpha (PgF 2α ) cloprostenol, when goats with hydrometer were twice injected intramuscularly with a 10-day interval in a dose of 0.5 and 1.0 ml, respectively. The objects of the study were breeding goats of breeding age (n=6) and lactating goats (n=37) of the Zaanen breed diagnosed with false pregnancy during screening ultrasound examination.
Prospects for industrial plantation cultivation of bittersweet (Celastrus L., Celastraceae) as a source of medicinal raw materials and biologically active substances
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45Natural biologically active substances from plants are promising stimulants or inhibitors of various physiological conditions in animals and humans. Bittersweet (Celastrus L.) is a large liana that produces a significant amount of leaves, a rapidly growing renewable source of raw materials. The medicinal properties of Celastrus are currently poorly understood, and its medical use is limited to traditional use in Asia and North America.
Cryoresistance of stallion sperm in different months of the year
Submitted by Гость (not verified) on Tue, 07/09/2024 - 16:45It is known that the seasonality of reproductive function is much more pronounced in mares than in stallions. The mare goes through an anestrus period in autumn and winter, while spermatogenesis in stallions continues throughout the year. Therefore, studies of cryoresistance of stallion sperm in different months of the year are relevant. The aim of the study was to study the cryoresistance of stallion sperm in different months of the year when creating cryopreservation of genetic material with intensive breeding use of sires.
