М. Р. Зазулина The paper identifies and describes the paternalistic mindset among the rural population of Russia. The empirical base consists of research data in rural communities of the Novosibirsk region in the period from 2005 to 2014. The structure of expectations related to the activities of various power and economic institutions is analyzed, and the regularities that determine the change in this structure are revealed. The article shows the specific features of transformation of the paternalistic mindset in the conditions of social crisis and decline of trust in dominating political institutions.
