The authors consider the peculiarities of higher education students' training on analytical and synthetic information processing, give a substantial analysis of a cataloguer training at secondary and higher education institutions, underlines professional and special competences of specialists in analytical and synthetic information processing. Special attention is paid to continuous education of the specialists on analytical and synthetic information processing and to insufficient efforts on implementing the principle of succession of educational process in cataloguer training in the system «special secondary educational establishments and higher educational establishments». The authors suggest to think about further active development of partnership relations between higher educational establishments dealing with cataloguer training and regional and as well as national library and information corporations.
